The Fidelity ADT IoT wireless alarm communicator incorporates the right level of technology to allow it to connect directly to a wide range of commercially available intruder alarm panels. Due to the low power consumption levels of the product, in almost all cases it is also able to take power directly from the panel, that eliminates the need for an additional power supply and cabling. The product also has an optional standby battery input to allow it to still function in the event of a total loss of power.
The product further incorporates a highly sensitive Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite receiver to accurately determine the location of the device. This saves valuable time in implementing alternate ways to obtain the location of the clients’ premises, especially if the intruder alarm panel and communicator are sold as a package kit through retail as a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) option.
Lastly, the product also has the ability to detect a water leak on a geyser and, should a leak be detected, it incorporates the right level of technology that can interface to a range of contactors / solenoid or motorised valves to cut the main supply disconnect the geyser from supply voltage to protect the element and at the same time to shut the water.
There are two variants of the product: namely, a variant with a small stub antenna (Model 1E) and a variant with an internal antenna (Model 1I).

The product provides intruder alarm status and triggered event data (event qualifier, event code, partition number and zone id number, for example) available from the PSTN output throught Contact Id message protocol or, in the event the PSTN output is not available, the status of programmable outputs (panic, burglary, fire or medical trigger outputs, for example).
The product further provides the precise location (latitude and longitude coordinates in degrees and decimal degrees) from the built-in GNSS receiver of the device.
The product also flags if analog input has exceeded a configurable threshold (to detect a geyser leak, for example).
The product lastly provides the supply voltage levels for external as well as standby battery.
