The BPW Innovation Lab has developed an all-new goods tracking solution capable of significantly improving supply chain transparency. Priced at around one-third of the cost of most existing concepts, it puts digital asset tracking within reach of numerous applications.
At the heart of the new solution is a new, especially low-cost and resilient sensing device, which is attached to the load carrier (pallet, rack, tank, cask etc.). With the help of Sigfox, it captures and transmits data indicating the location and condition (temperature and shock exposure) of the cargo. The data can be presented to individual applications throughout the supply chain in real time. Goods flow management can therefore be fully integrated in ERP systems and manual intervention points are reduced to the bare minimum. In collaboration with customers, the Innovation Lab is developing entirely new services and business models on this platform.
The automation of logistics processes offers compelling benefits to both goods shippers and recipients:
Shippers:
- Transparency between loading bays
- Enhanced compliance with delivery schedules
- Tracking of returnable containers
- Reduced working capital
- Automation of internal processes
- Independence from hauliers
Goods recipients:
- Avoidance of downtimes
- Implementation of a warehouse-on-wheels policy
- Faster responses to inquiries
Our solution encompasses:
- Pay-by-use model – customers pay only for the services they need
- Customisable cloud platform
- API interfaces
- IP67 housing
- 2-year runtime (positioning every 20-minutes)
- GPS positioning
- Geofencing and alerts
- Estimated time of arrival (ETA)
