Thingsplay is a company created in July 2014 by Georges Luel and Frédéric Jourdain with the aim to make agile and innovative technological tools available to industries in the context of the Internet of Things. After a few years in research and development, Thingsplay has developed technological solutions and a connected devices computer management platform. This platform is based on ‘real-time’ technologies and on ‘big data’ databases by integrating the Rabbit MQ and MongoDB solutions.
Thingsplay has developed a set of hardware solutions that meet the demands of industrial customers. These electronic devices quickly enable the collection of data that would not yet be available through PLCs and other production line management tools.
Three main categories of electronic cards exist:
- A multifunctional electronic card for collecting data from different sensors and also having a serial connection for reading data through the MODBUS or M-BUS protocol. Numerous data are sent to the server through a wired connection, WIFI, GSM, SIGFOX or LORA.
- A MOBILE electronic card for acquiring data on a serial port, supplemented by geolocation and data sending (including GPS data) via a GSM (NBIOT, 2G/3G) connection.
- A set of solutions addressing poor air quality in buildings. Thingsplay has developed expertise in data acquisition for companies interested in monitoring, evaluating and possibly correcting air quality. Measurements are based on the observed temperatures, humidity, CO2 and microparticles.
