The Bin Thing

The bin thing is a small and affordable fill-level measurement sensor. 

It was primarily designed for the waste management sectors, but is also applicable in other domains. (e.g. clothing collection containers) This sensor provides better insight into the fill level of waste bins and hence prevents inefficient pickups. Not only do overflowing bins result in additional costs and cleaning, avoiding unnecessary collections leads to decreasing CO2 emissions.

This sensor is available either as a standalone device or can be purchased including network connectivity and cloud based management. The cloud based portal features the following functionality, this package includes:

Portal:

– Positioning devices and visualize fill-levels on map

– Filter devices based on fill level

– Display shortest path between devices

– Creation of user accounts with roles

Native mobile app:

– Navigation to devices based on their fill-level

– Qr code based synchronisation with waste basket

– Maintenance operations (file reports, take pictures)

– Install and pair sensors with the portal profile
