The RTLS-EH-GPS-RC1 is designed to track your large outdoor unpowered moving assets by localising them using GPS and the providing the data using the SIGFOX network and the RTLS proprietary LPWAN.    

Using a novel combination of solar energy Harvesting and power management the RTLS-EH-GPS-RC1 requires no recharging, wiring installations or power from the asset. 1-day energy utilisation is harvested back in 5 hours on an overcast winter’s day and 15 minutes of bright sunshine in the summer.  

Simply affix the tag to any asset and receive 140 position updates per day 365 days per year.

The RTLS-EH-GPS-RC1 uses the full 12-byte maximum payload allowed within the SIGFOX network for uplink. 

The following parameters can be derived from the packet.

  • Moving During Transmission - Indicator that the asset was moving during the last 60 seconds prior to TX.     
  • GPS Interval - Indicates the number of 12-minute cycles since the GPS was obtained when the asset is static.     
  • Movement Count - Indicates the number of 60 second cycles in the previous 12-minute cycle the asset was moving.     
  • GPS Latitude - GPS latitude constructed from a 4 point average including N / S.     
  • GPS Longitude - GPS longitude constructed from a 4 point average including E / W.     
  • Temperature - Temperature of the PCB / enclosure (8-bit sample).     
  • Solar Voltage - Voltage of the solar panels (7-bit sample).     
  • Battery Voltage - Voltage of the battery under usage (7-bit sample).     
  • Battery Type - Indicates that which battery type the device is currently operating from, secondary or primary.     
  • New GPS Lock - Indicates that a new GPS position has been obtained this cycle.

Power reserve at 140 SIGFOX & GPS events 75 days on secondary cell and then 2-hour SIGFOX & GPS cycle for 503 days on primary backup.
